Mumbai: ICICI Bank Ltd, India's largest private sector bank, organised 36 Coin Exchange Melas at its various branches in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane during June 2014, under the guidance of the Reserve Bank of India.
The Bank organises Coin Exchange Melas to offer free facility of exchanging acceptable soiled and mutilated currency notes with coins to the general public and is a much-awaited event that receives an overwhelming response from people from all walks of life. Anyone can avail of this facility free of cost.
Thirty six coin exchange melas were conducted at the Bank’s branches and more such events are scheduled in the month of July at its branches across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane.
The event saw participation of more than 1600 customers where the branches exchanged coins worth over Rs. 27 lakhs in the denomination of Rs.10, Rs.5, Rs.2 and Re.1.
ICICI Bank has 3,753 branches and extension counters and 11,315 ATMs spread across the country. It has over 200 branches in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, along with 10 Touch Banking branches. (At March 31, 2014)
